Rhizosphere Mycoflora of Saccharum Officinarum at Nandurbar District, Maharashtra.

Abstract

The diversity of rhizospheric fungi associated with Saccharum officinarum (Sugarcane) was investigated in two regions of Nandurbar Districts, namely Taloda and Shahada. The results revealed that Trichoderma species were most dominant fungal taxa at both the locations. In contrast, Penicillium and Aspergillus were frequently recorded in Shahada, whereas Fusarium and Cladosporium were observed in Taloda. The findings further indicated that soil characteristics, particularly organic carbon and moisture contents significantly influenced distribution and prevalence of fungal communities.
