The LC50 values were 7.5 mg/l for dimethoate and 1.5 mg/l for lambda -cyhalothrin, indicating their toxicity to the test species. Fingerlings of Labeo rohita were subsequently exposed to lethal concentrations of both pesticides for 4 and 30 days. The results showed significant reduction in lipid content in all organs of pesticide exposed fishes, highlighting their adverse effect.
