Lmbda-cyhalothrin 5 % EC is a synthetic pyrethroid compound which contaminate agricultural and household wastewater. It can be introduced into aquatic ecosystems and negatively impact the aquatic system. The objective of the present research was to investigate the adverse effects of lambdacyhalothrin 5 % EC on behavioural changes in freshwater fish Labeo rohita. The number of dead fishes were recorded after 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours due to the exposure to various concentrations of the pesticide. A static bioassay method was followed to determine LC50 values of Lambda-cyhalothrin 5 % EC. Well-acclimated fishes were used in the experiment, which were divided into seven groups, each of which was exposed to the pesticides for a specific duration. The mortality rates and LC50 values of the pesticide were determined in the experiments which were conducted for three times. Probit analysis was employed to evaluate the data. The results indicated that pesticides exhibit high toxicity to fish even at low concentrations.
