Present investigation was undertaken to test antibacterial activity of garlic against Acinetobacter baumanni, an opportunistic, Gram-negative bacterium showing antibiotic resistance against several conventional drugs.. The genes responsible for streptomycin resistance were cured from A. baumannii using garlic crude extract with 99 % curing efficiency. The medicinal potential of garlic, against drug resistant pathogens, has been highlighted and its scope for future investigations are discussed.
