The present communication deals with the pharmacognostic investigations on the leaf of Adhatoda zeylanica Medic. (Acanthaceae). Macroscopic and microscopic examinations of the organs and different chemical test were carried out for the authentication of the leaf samples. Extractive values as well as quantitative estimation of various phytochemicals have been studied.
