Weed survey was undertaken around Satara in the year 2006–07. Weed population studies were carried out by studying Frequency, Density and Abundance. Two hundred and fifty dicot crop fields were visited. Altogether 101 weed species belonging to 28 families were collected. The weed flora was dominated by dicot plants. On the basis of ecological characters of the weed species in vegetation, twenty dominant weeds were identified.
