Abstract

Carbamate resistance levels were studied upto five generations in laboratory to study carbamate inheritance in H. armigera population. Larvae of H. armigera were reared on chickpea based semi synthetic artificial diet and topically applied with carbaryl, methomyl and thiodicarb @ 1 μg/μl each on mesothoracic region for five generations. Selection pressure of three insecticides in laboratory conditions increased resistance by 2.24 -fold for carbaryl, 3.24 -fold for methormyl and 4.40-fold for thiodicarb in fifth generation.
