Effect of Vinca rosea flower extract on respiration in the freshwater crab, Barytelphusa guerini (H. Milne Edwards) (Decapoda, Potamidea)

Abstract

The respiratory metabolism in freshwater crab, Barytelphusa guerini increased due to the treatment with Vinca rosea flower extract. The increased oxygen uptake under the influence of V. rosea was associated with stimulation of SDH, while inhibition of LDH activity.
