Impact of front line demonstration on Production Technology – II. Muskmelon

The Front Line Demonstration on Production Technology of Muskmelon var. Emperor was conducted during 2005–09 on farmers field in four villages of Dhule district in summer season. The average yield performance of 40 demonstrated Muskmelon crop in an area of 15 hectares ranged from 198 to 208 q/ha. with an average value 203 q/ha; whereas for local crop, it was found to be 154 q/ha. There was thus 32% increase in yield due to demonstration.The cost benefit ratio of 5.25 was attained on demonstration plots (4.79).
