Occurrence and distribution of mycorrhizal fungi in ten places of Mahabubnagar district was investigated. The number of resting spores, genera and species varied from place to place and with the soil type. The maximum number of genera (6) and species (7) were recorded from Alampur and Gadwal soils. Only two genera and two species were recorded from soils of Wanaparthy. Qualiatively and quantitatively, Glomus species dominated in all the soils.
