Front Line Demonstration on Production Technology of Tomato var. Phule Raja was conducted during 2006–2009 on farmers field in four villages of Dhule district in rabi season. The average yield on 15 demonstration plots of tomato crop ranged from 370 to 385 q/ha with the average value of 378 q/ha in comparison to local crop which was 272 q/ha. There was 38.86 per cent increase in demonstration yield over local crop. The cost benefit ratio of 5.62 was recorded on demonstratation plots as against 4.40 on local field. The use of improved variety, improved cultivation practices, proper post harvest management and plant protection measures resulted in higher productivity of tomato.
