Influence of waterlogging on seed germination of finger millet variety GPU-28 was investigated. Waterlogging treatment delayed seed germination and caused decline in seedling growth. The growth of radicle was more sensitive than that of coleoptiles. Activities of enzymes á-amylase, acid phosphatase, ATPase, peroxidase and catalase were reduced due to waterlogging during initial phase of germination while, opposite trend was noticed in case of enzyme alkaline phosphatase.
