The paper deals with in vivo germination of pollen grains of Catharanthus roseus, Allamanda cathartica, Datura metal, Brassica juncea, Raphanus sativus and Cleome viscosa. Vinca, Allamanda and Cleome stigmas were wet, where as Brassica and Raphanus were with pappilate stigmas having finger like projections. Datura metal stigma was wet and non-pappilate. Observation on in vivo germination revealed variation in receptivity of stigmats.
