Effect of Boswellia serrata (L.) bark extracts on growth of Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella typhi was studied using agar well diffusion method. The acetone extract exhibited maximum antibacterial activity against all microorganisms. Gram negative bacteria were found to be more sensitive to all bark extracts. Presence of terpenoids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids and cardiac glycosides in bark extracts were detected.
