The paper presents synopsis of species of Fimbristylis Vahl. a richly represented taxon of Cyperaceae in Khandesh region of Maharashtra stae. Diagnostic characters of 23 species, 2 subspecies and 1 variety of the genus occurring in Khandesh region together with their enumeration and diagnostic key is presented.
