The present communication deals with the description of 12 taxa of Chlamydomonas. e.g. C. acuta Kors., C. atactogama Kors., C. conferta Kors., C. conoides Iyengar, C. globosa var. arenariae Iyengar, C. gloeogama Kors., C. oocysticola Iyengar, C. pertusa var. indica Iyengar, C. pertusa var. minor var. nov., C. subcaudata Wille, C. umbonata, Pascher and C. zebra Kors. All these taxa have been recorded for the first time from Maharashtra.
