Fresh water mussels, Lamellidens marginalis were exposed to three subleathal concentrations (6.25, 12.50 and 18.75.mg/l) of a detergent Henko for 96 hr. Oxygen consumption by animals were estimated and the changes obtained are discussed in relation to the exposure period and concentrations of detergent Henko.
