The investigation was undertaken in Thane, to survey mycoflora inhabiting papers in biological sciences laboratories. A total of 26 fungal species belonging to 11 genera were encountered. Prominent among them were the cellulolytic genera e. g. Aspergillus, Chaetomium, Peniclllium, Fusarium and Curvularia. The fungal organisms isolated during the investigation are opportunistic human pathogens and potential health hazards.
