Abstract

The carbon and nitrogen nutrition of three fungal species, isolated from rhizosphere of pigeon pea varieties were studied at 28°C for 10 days at pH 6.0. Among carbon sources glucose, fructose and sucrose were found to be the best for growth of Aspergillus flavus, A.niger and A. nidulans respectively and among nitrogen sources potassium nitrate was found to be best for growth of A. flavus while peptone for A. niger and A. nidulans.
