Five strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were isolated from nectars of Madhuca longifolia (Koen.) Macb. var. latifolia (Roxb.) Cheval, Woodfordia fruticosa Kurz, Plumbago zeylanica Linn and Aloe sp. The fermentative characters of the isolated strains were better than commercial strains. These could be used for wine production.
