Abstract

While studying Chlorococcalean algae from Jalgaon district, Maharashtra State, the authors recorded two rare algae from Tapi river near Bhusawal. These were Geminella mutubilis (Breb.) Wille belonging to class Chlorophyceae and Dinobryon sertularia Ehr. to Chrysophyceae. Both are being reported for the first time from Maharashtra. The taxa have been described with respect to habitat and morphology.
