A method for quantitative estimation of cholesterol using C18 reversed phase column and evaporative light scattering detector was developed by optimizing technical parameters, such as column oven temperature (450C), mobile phase composition (acetonitrile - isopropanol, 60: 40), mobile phase flow rate (1.5 ml/min), nebulizer temperature (550C) and evaporator temperature (850C). The calibration curve was established with 2.5 - 160 µ/ml standard cholesterol with correlation coefficient (r2) value of 0.99.
