Present communication deals with comparative account of the genus Genarchosis, with a new species G. paithanensis parasitizing Mastacembelus armatus Lecepede (1800) collected from Jaikwadi reservoir, Paithan, district. Aurangabad. The new species G. paithanensis differ from other known species in having distinct characters viz, shape and size of the body; suckers, position of reproductive organs and their arrangement.
