Abstract

Field experiments were conducted at Post Graduate Institute Farm, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri during summer 2008 and 2009 to investigate the influence manual topping on yield and nutrient uptake in summer sesamum. The trials were conducted in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with five replications, two varieties (Phule Til 1 and AKT-101) and three stages of terminal toppings (30 and 45 days after sowing, and no topping). The results revealed that manual topping at 30 DAS favorably influenced the yield traits, nutrient uptake and yield of the sesame variety AKT-101.
