Abstract

Maximum mycorrhizal colonization (83%) and chlamydospore population (176/50 g rhizosphere soil) was found in the plants inoculated with G. fasciculatum. The highest shoot length (21.2 cm), number of leaves (72.5) and leaf area (8.2 cm2) was observed due to VAM treatment. Highest fresh weight (1.115 g/twig) and essential oil content (0.74%) was recorded due to the treatment of A. laevis. Thus VAM fungi were found to be useful in improving growth and productivity of mints.
