The present investigation was conducted at Regional Horticultural Research Station,ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, NavsariAgricultural University, Navsari during year 2009–2010. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with Factorial concept with eighteen treatment combinations repeated three times. The treatments comprised of two sowing positions viz., Flat and Plumule up position, three durations of sowing viz., Fresh extracted stone, 10 and 20 days after extraction of pulp, and three pre-sowing treatments viz., soaking in water for 24 hrs, cow dung slurry for 24 hrs and 0.5% KNO3 for 24 hrs. Plumule up sowing position was found to be best for minimum days to germinate and maximum germination percentage. Fresh extracted stone and its soaking in cow dung slurry for 24 hrs were found most promising.
