Isolation and production of protease enzyme from rhizospheric fungi of virus infected tomato plants

Abstract

Nine Fungi isolated from the rhizosphere of virus infected tomato plants viz. Aspergillus niger, A. flavus, A. terrus, A. fumigatus, A. nidulance, Fusarium oxysporum, F. oxysporum,Alternaria alternata and Penicillium ctrinum. werecapable of producing protease enzyme. Aspergillus niger showed maximum production of protease enzyme. In glucose nitrate medium Fusarium oxysporum and Penicillium citrinum produced higher amounts of protease.
