The genomic DNA of six populations of Apiscerana (family Apidae) was subjected to RAPD-PCR analysis with four decamer oligonucleotides. All of them produced discrete bands of various lengths indicating genetic variation as well as similarity among Apiscerana populations under investigation. In some species specific bands were developed. These can be considered as diagnostic bands for the genus. All primers also produced species specific bands. The results were supported by dendrogram plotted taking into account nearest neighbor analysis, which further revealed more authentic information due to clustering.
