Abstract

Studies on diversity of fish fauna at Nandur Madhmeshwar water reservoir were undertaken during pre-monsoonal season of 2011. Eighteen species of fishes belonging to 7 orders, 12 families and 16 genera have been reported. Orders Siluriformes and Perciformes were found dominant with 5 species each, followed by Cypriniformes with 4 species, while Osteoglossiformes, Anguilliformes, Beloniformes and Synbranchiformes with 1 species each.
