Effect of sowing methods and weed management practices on performance of prosomillet (Panicum miliaceum L.)

Afield experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2008–2009 at Agronomy Farm, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, (M.S.) to study the performance of prosomillet with different methods of sowing and weed management practices. Transplanting recorded significantly superior yield over dibbling and drilling. With respect to grain and straw yield, weed free check recorded significantly higher grain yield than the remaining treatments, followed by Oxadiargil (Pre-eme + one hand weeding 45–50 DAS), Two Hand weeding (1520 and 45–50 DAS or transplanting), Oxadiargil (Pre-eme) 80g a.i./ha and weedy check respectively.
