Antimicroabial activtiy of methanolic extracts of tea (Camellia sinensis L)
Abstract
Antimicroabial activity of methanolic extracts of tea has been carried against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, and B. subtilis. Different brands of tea were tested for antimicrobial activity against them. Brand A and E showed good antimicrobial potential against E. coli and S. aureus. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of methanolic tea extracts against E. coli were found to be within the range 50–75 mg/ml.
