Abstract

Observations were made on mitotic cell division in root tips of Allium cepa L. at different time intervals during 8.00 to 11.00 AM.The mitotic index was maximum (29.82±1.08)during 8.30–9.00 AM. Maximum metaphases (8.51%) and anaphases (8.87%) were observed during 8.30–9.00 AM.
