Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of induced mutation for resistance to yellow vein mosaic virus disease in M1 and M2 generation of okra (cv. Phule Utkarsha). Higher mutagenic doses showed resistance with less disease intensity. Comparatively less disease intensity was observed in kharif season (M1 generation) than the summer season (M2 generation). The treatments with higher mutagenic doses (40kRgamma rays + 0.1% EMS and 30 kRgamma rays + 0.1% EMS) had shown resistance against yellow vein mosaic virus.
