Tomato receives an important place in Indian food. Though tomato crop is available throughout the year but in rabii season its excess production reduces the cost. In winter due to its excess production to demand resulted into the waste, and sometimes the farmers bear the losses to reduce such type of the losses Krishi Vigyan Kendra Anjora have conducted the trainings an demonstrations on the preservation methods of tomato and its different produces for the economic upliftment of rural women in last five years in the village Deori, Parastarai, Karanja, Bhilai & Beloudi of district Durg. A total of 70 women participants have participated in the training and demonstration programmes. After the six months of the training progrmme as well demonstrations a semi structured interview were conducted for the responses of training and its adoption, which resulted that tomato sauce was adopted by 10%, tomato chatani by 27%, tamato powder by 38% and tomato pickle by 25% rural women and also accepted the utility of different produce accordingly.
