Abstract

For sustainable development of Agriculture, Watershed has been recognized as a development unit. Although, there are several models, available to estimate water yield, yet derth of data base limit use of these models. A “Conservation Factor” (CF) was developed by taking three water yield producing parameters attributes namely land use, conservation measures and soil type. The factor shows the conservation strength of the watershed.. Minimum threshold rainfall was determined and was correlated with conservation factor to assess water yield. The validity of regression models were tested in two different locations and it was found that, Conservation Factor (CF) can be used for watershed evaluation & water predicion as well.
