Abstract

Linear and double-log models have been fitted pertaining to the yield and inputs namely fertilizer, irrigation and insecticides to study the functional relationship on the yield of the vegetable crops. Double-log model has been confirmed to be the best fit. From the results, it has been observed that fertilizer, irrigation and insecticides have significant effect on the yield of cauli-flower and lady's finger. However, the effect of inputs is observed non-significant on the yield of onion except fertilizer in the first year only. The estimates of elasticity were observed positive and significant for cauli-flower and lady's finger in both the years. It implies that a positive response on the yield of cauli-flower and lady's finger would be expected to the changing levels of fertilizer, irrigation and insecticides.
