Marketing system of mushroom: A study with special reference to Jharkhand state

Abstract

Results indicated that in the study area, four prominent marketing channels were used for disposal of mushroom. About 30 percent of the mushroom produced were sold through channel-I, 27-percent through channel-II, 19.0 percent through channel-III and rest from channel-IV. The analysis of marketing costs and margins indicated that the sample growers were relizing higher unit price when they sold their produce through channel-II (96.53%) followed by channel-I (80.46%), channel-III (71.76) and channel-IV (70.58%). The analysis finds that NGO & Cooperatives-incurred a higher complained that due to low unit price paid by the NGOs and cooperatives they discouraging them for maximizing their production. If proper marketing facilities provided to the mushroom growers in the study area they have entainly improve their production in the future.
