To ensure sustainable production from Pearlmillet-Wheat cropping system, an experiment was conducted at cropping system research center Hisar during 2000–01 to 2005–06. Observations for grain yield were recorded by plot sampling technique. Analysis revealed that maximum grain yield can be obtained by sowing guar as an intercrop with pearlmillet by using recommended fertilizer dose of N.P.K. with seed rate 5 kg./ha for pearlmillet and 20 kg/ha of guar in kharif and wheat in rabiby using seed rate 162.5 kg/ha instead of 125 kg/ha with recommended fertilizer dose of N.P.K. Maximum net return from the pearlmillet-wheat crop sequence can be obtained by using their recommended fertilizer dose of N.P.K. along with 10 ton/ha FYM with seed rate 6.5 kg/ha instead of 5 Kg/ha for pearlmillet in kharif and 162.5 Kg/ha instead of 125 kg/ha seed rate for wheat crop in rabi. Maximum fertilizer uptake was also received by this treatment. This treatment also gave consistent net return with respect to others because it maintains first rank during five years and third rank once out of six years.
