Epidemics of P. perpusilla have been recorded in Uttar Pradesh in pastduring 1934–1936, 1937–1938, 1947–1948, 1951–53, 1968–70, 1973–74, 1976–77, 1978–79, 1985–86, 1999 (Agrwal 1969, Banarjee 1974, Rajak et al; 1987, Pawar 1989, Pawar et al; 2002). During the year 2005–06 its out break has been recorded in eastern and western part of U.P. on sugarcane crop. It initially appeared on wheat, Barley, oat, Fodder Sorghum which migrates to sugarcane in the month of March. The observation on the population of pyrilla and its nymphal and adult parasitoid was recorded from different sugarcane factory Zone of eastern U.P. The observation was recorded rom March 2005 to September 2005 at monthly intervals. It's Nymphal and adult parasitoid played an active role in controlling the pyrilla population. The population of pyrilla was observed to be the maximum 89.50 per leaf during June 2005, maximum temperature and low humidity causes slow multiplication of the parasitoid. In the month of July the population of pyrilla was descreased due to faast multiplication of parasitoid. The parasitisation was increased up to 98.50 per leaf in the month of September. The aerial insecticidal spraying operation was not recommended, resulted in a net saving of about 8, 26, 53, 555 rupees for 207714 ha, areas besides avoiding environmental pollution.
