Sugarcane Research Institute, Shajahanpur - 242 001.
An experiment was conducted at the research farm of U.P. Council of Sugarcane Research, Shahajahanpur during 2002–2004 to 2004–2006 (Autimn) to develop IPM secedule for the control of Gurdaaspur borer in half block design. Half block was planted with healthy seed of variety CoSe 98231 with inundative release of Trichogramma chilonis @ 50,000 adults/ha per week from last week of June to 15th September alongwith collection and destruction of affected cane tops, while half was left untreated (farmer's practices). It is evident from Table-1 that minimum incidence of Gurdaspur borer maximum no. of millable canes/ha, yield t/ha and sucrose percentage in cane juice was recorded 0.85%, 162477, 103.05 t/ha and 16.13% in treated block while it was 1.61%, 146, 821, 94.41 and 15.03% in untreated block, respectively (Table 1). Hence aforesaid IPM sehedule may be recommended for the control of Gurdaspur borer.
