Abstract

The present paper intends to examine the profitability and future prospect of employment opportunities through safe musli. In the study, five districts viz. Betul, Bhopal Indore, Dhar and Ratlam, 15 villages and 70 growers of madhya pradesh were selected on the basis of maximum area covered by safed musli crop. For estimation of cost and return of crop, cost A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 and C3 and NFI FLI FBI were considered. The analysis shows that average total cost of cultivation per hectare (Cost C3) came to Rs 3,67,057 of sample farmers.

It could be concluded that cost A1 (actual expenses) covered maximum share (89%) to total cost (Cost C3). In cost A1 93 precent expenses covered by planting material and human labour requirement to carryout different operation.
