Studies on growth and development of pevendi ber (Ziziphus mauritiana Lank.) of Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh) showed that the fruit growth in term of fruit weight, volume, fruit length and diameter presented a double sigmoid curve. The interval between fruit setting and maturity was 130 days. It found that total solible solids, titrable acidity reducing sugar and total sugar in fruit pulp increased towards maturity. Ascorbic acid content increased and decreased as the fruit matured.
