The field experiment conducted during 2006–07 under All India Coordinated Research Project on Long-Term fertilizer experiment on soybean-wheat cropping sequence in a Typic Haplustert at Jabalpur. The finding of experiment indicated that the maximum number of nodule (141.30 per plant) and yield of soybean (1860 kg ha−1) in treatment receiving 100% NPK + FYM. After 36 years of experimentation, it was found that the weight of nodule and its efficiency 2.80 g plant−1 and 90% in treatment receiving 100% NPK + Zn (T), respectively. On the basis of results the maximum nodule number swas found in application of balance fertilzier with FYM treatment and zinc is also benifical for nodulation, whereas the minimum number of nodule, weight of nodule and its efficiency was found in imbalance dose treatments (without P, K & S). Therefore it is concluded that the application of balance fertilizer with FYM gave positive response on the yield and efficiency of rhizobium bacteria in soybean.
