Study on Weed Flora Based on Frequency and Relative Density in Major Kharif Crops of Gwalior, Bhind and Morena District of Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

A survey of weed flora in kharif crops of Gwalior, Bhind and Morena district of M.P. was conducted in year 2009. Data summerised on the basis of relative density in major crops of kharif season 2009, it is concluded that the Cyperus rotundus in rice, Celosia argentea in soybean, Echinochloa crusgalli in seasmum and Cynodon dactylon in pearl millet were dominent weeds in Gwalior district. While Cynodon dactylon in sesamum and Digera arvensis in pearl millet were recorded major weeds in Bhind district. Similarly Digera arvensis in pearl millet and Cyperus rotundus in pigeon pea were found dominent weed in Morena district.
