Scheme for management of salt affect soils and use of saline water in agriculture (I.C.R.A.), R.B.S. College, Blchpuri Agra 283105.

Abstract

Field experiments were conducted at R.B.S. College Bichpuri Agra during rabi and kharif season 2006–07 and 2007–08 in cluster bean mustard crop rotation under the scheme management of salt affected soils and use of saline water in agriculture. The Crops were irrigated with canal, saline and alkaliwaters. The result reveals that 18.8 and 15;8q/ha. clusterbean seeds were attained by 8 and 12 ds/m saline water irrigation which was 17 and 30% lesser in yield of cluster bean respectively as respectively compared with canal water. Similarly the loss in yield of mustard crop under 8 & 12 ds/m saline water was 17 and 29% as compared with canal irrigation. Further the crop irrigated with RSC 5, 10, IS, and 20 alkaline water the yield reduced by 13, 27, 57 and 91%incluster bean and by 14, 19, 27 and 69% respectively inmustard crop as compared with canal water irrigation. Under these treatments germination per cent and yield attributing character were also observed lower than other treatments.
