Investigations were carried out during kharif seasons of 2007 and 2008 at the Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Gwalior (M.P.). The experiment was laid out in the randomized block design (RBD) with 16 treatments (including one control i.e. weedy check) with three replications. It was observed that the application of mixture of chlorimuron ethly 9g + Fenoxaprop 90 g/ha of post emergence spray found more effective in controlling weeds and according enhancing seed yield which was maximum (1501 kh/ha) as compared to other chemical treatments. It was also observed that seed yield of 1630 kg/ha under weed free treatment (3 hand weeding 20, 35 and 50 DAS) was not found economic due to high weeding cost. Highest net return (24556 Rs/ha) was found with the application of chlorimuron ethyl 9g + Fenoxaprop 90 g/ha as post emergence as compared to weedy check (6549 Rs/ha) and also found superior as compared with other treatments. NPK content and uptake in seed and straw was found maximum with the application of weed free treatment of 3 hand weeding (20, 35 and 50 DAS) as compared to other treatments.
