Abstract

Infant calves of buffaloes suffer heavy mortality mainly due to infestation of Round worm. On farm Trials and Front Line Demonstration were carried out in Bhadrauli, Udaipur and Hiri Villages of Morar Block (Gwalior M.P.) in January - March, 2008 & August- December, 2008 respectively to see the effectiveness of oral administration of dewormer -piperazine citrate (Dose- 30 ml/calf at the age of 1st & 3rd week) in minimizing the mortality of infant buffaloe calves. The number of calves were 20 treated (1st week and 3rd week of age) and 20 untreated in both OFT & FLD. The reduction in mortality was to a magnitude of 71.4% and 62.5% under OFT & FLD respectively.
