Abstract

The pigeon pea based intercrops significantly enhanced the population of spiders (Oxyopus sp., Clubiona sp. and Araneus sp.) and lady's bird beetles (Coccinella septempunctata and Menochelous sexmaculatus). While the population of predators green lacewing (Chrysoperla carnea), fragonfly (Crocothemis servilia) and parasitoids Euderus lividus and Apanteles sp. were not influenced by intercropping. Although in comparision with pigeon pea monocrop the population of eco-friendly fauna where higher in intercrops. The impact of eco-friendly bio-insecticides i.e. N S K E, B t. and nimbecidine, applied once and twice (first at flowering and pod formation stage and second 20 days after first spray) on the population of eco-friendly fauna were non-significant in reducing their population. While the population of eco-friendly fauna were higher inuntreated crop.
