Abstract

A field trial was conducted under On Farm Trial (OFT) at 4 farmers field by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bharari, Jhansi, Chandra Shekhar Azad Univ. & Agric. & Tech., Kanpur U.P. during the two consecutive years 2009–10 and 2010–11, respectively to know the effect of various Soil Fertility Improvement Practices like T1 - Farmers Practice (Control No Recycling of crop residues & Green manuring of Dhaincha), T2 -Recycling of Green manuring of Dhaincha and T3 - Recycling of crop residues + Green manuring of Dhaincha on yield of wheat crop. Treatment T3 was observed to produce highest improvement (0.50 percent) in the OC content of the soil during both the years resulting in highest yield of wheat (67.4 per cent) followed by treatment T2 (48.7 per cent) as compared to treatment T1 - Farmers Practice (Control - No Recycling of crop residues+ Green manuring of Dhaincha). The net profit from various treatment (T1, T2 and T3) was Rs. 14070, 23263 and 24842 per ha, respectively.
