Abstract

Farm women plays an important role in grain storage in our country. Approximately 65–70 percent of total grain production is stored at farmers level. 15–20 percent grain is destroyed by different type of contaminants etc. This study was conducted in block of Hastinapur, District Meerut (U.P) during 2009–2010. In this study, 200 farm women were selected in different village of different groups. 79 percent container were dried in sunlight before 3–5 days of storage. 52.50 percent used plastic bag for storage of grain. EDB Ampules/sulphas insecticide for prevention of insects was used by 53.50 percent while match box as indigenous technique were used by 28 percent during grain storage.
